Arnaud Bletterer obtained his MSc in Computer Science from the University of Strasbourg in 2014. He is currently PhD student at the University of Nice Sophia Antipolis, under the supervision of Marc Antonini and Frédéric Payan. This thesis is funded by the Region "Provence Alpes Côte d'Azur", in collaboration with the startup Cintoo3D, which is a spinoff the the CNRS and the University of Nice Sophia Antipolis. His work mainly focuses on 3D surface reconstruction and data visualisation.

Lauriane obtained her MSc in petroleum geoscience at University of Lorraine, and is graduated from the ENSG (National School of Geology from Nancy) with a specialization in numerical geology. She started her PhD under the supervision of Marc Antonini and Frederic Payan at the University of Nice Sophia Antipolis, and Laurent Duval (IFPEN). This thesis involves a collaboration between IFPEN an I3S, and aims at studying the progressive compression of large evolutionary volumic meshes. This kind of mesh is used in many fields simulating a lot of data: Geosciences, Wind Energy, Motors Modelisation... Such post processing would help the transfer, the storage, the visualization and the manipulation of meshes, and could also be used to initialize a data processing.

Melpomeni Dimopoulou received her engineering diploma from the “Computer Engineering and Informatics Department” at the University of Patras in Greece in 2016. In 2016-2017 she pursued her studies in the Master program of “Computational Biology and Biomedicine” at the University of Nice Sophia Antipolis in France and obtained a Master’s degree. In the context of her studies she did her internship in the I3S laboratory working with the team of Mediacoding on the application of Leaky Integrate-and-Fire neurons on signal and image processing. Currently she is a PhD student of the Mediacoding Team working on the subject “DNA coding for long term digital data storage” in a collaboration with the IPMC laboratory, under the supervision of Marc Antonini and Pascal Barbry. This work aims to explore the use of the DNA as a mean of long-life digital data storage achieving high data compression due to the DNA’s biological properties.

Cyprien Gilet obtained his MSc in applied mathematics (master MIGS) from the University of Burgundy (Dijon) in 2017. He started a PhD in Machine Learning under the supervision of Lionel Fillatre (I3S laboratory) and Nicolas Glaichenhaus (IPMC laboratory) in November 2017. This thesis is funded both by the CNRS and the IPMC laboratory. This thesis aims to develop effective learning algorithms in order to predict the evolution of a disease and adapt the treatment to the profile of each patient.

Diana Resmerita obtained her MSc in Computer Science at the University of Nice Sophia-Antipolis in 2017. Curently, she is a PhD student in Deep Learning working under the supervision of Lionel Fillatre (Professor of I3S Laboratory) and Benoit de Dinechin (CTO of Kalray). Kalray is a company specialized in large-scale manycore processors for new intelligent systems. The thesis aims to explore neural networks and develop efficient algorithms able to compress these networks and reduce the computational complexity, in order to boost performance (low latency, low energy consumption, low memory storage).

Danny Schmitt obtained his MSc in mathematics at the University of Nice Sophia-Antipolis in 2014, and then his MSc in computer science in 2016. He started a PhD in statistical learning under the supervision of Lionel Fillatre at I3S laboratory in October 2016. This thesis aims to develop effective learning algorithms when the data are few, with applications on biological measures.

Yuxiang Zhou obtained his engineering diploma in applied mathematics and modeling from Polytech Nice Sophia in 2018. He started his PHD under the supervision of Marc Antonini and Frederic Payan at the university of Nice Sophia Antipolis. This thesis is funded by the region Provence-Alpes-Cote D'azur and cooperate with CHU(University Hospital Center). It aims to build model of organs hidden under fat and trace their displacement during the surgery.
